Individualized Coaching

One on One Training

Focused, private coaching for players who want to move faster than a team session allows — whether that means catching up, preparing for a tryout, or chasing the next level.

What Is 1-on-1 Training?

1-on-1 Training is SJSA's private coaching option for players who need something a group practice can't always give them: a session built entirely around them. Instead of following a shared team plan, every minute is spent on the touches, decisions, and habits that matter most for that specific player.

It's a great fit alongside our team programs — not a replacement for them. Many of our players use 1-on-1 sessions to reinforce what they're learning in team training, close a specific gap, or get tryout-ready on their own timeline.

Who It's For

Built Around Where Your Player Is Right Now

We work with players at every stage — this is for anyone who needs a more focused environment than team training provides:

  • Players who need extra help catching up on the basics or a specific weakness
  • Players preparing for an upcoming tryout, evaluation, or combine
  • Players who want more intense, individualized training beyond team practice
  • Players returning from injury who need controlled, focused reps
  • Goalkeepers who want position-specific coaching and reps
  • Players moving up an age group or level who need to close the gap quickly
Every Session

What's Included In A Session

No two players get the same session — but every session covers the ground that actually moves the needle.

Technical Skill Work

First touch, dribbling, striking, and weak-foot work built around the player's specific gaps.

Tactical & Game IQ

Decision making, positioning, and reading the game — the details that separate players at tryouts.

Tryout & Evaluation Prep

Simulated tryout pressure and presentation, so gameday doesn't feel like the first time.

Progress You Can See

Coach feedback after every session so players and parents both know what improved and what to work on next.

How It Works

How Sessions Work

We start with a quick conversation about the player's goals — extra help, tryout prep, or more intense training — and build sessions around that. Every session is coached by SJSA staff, so the training lines up with what your player is already learning on the field.

  • 45–60 minute focused sessions, one-on-one or small group (2–3 players)
  • Scheduled around your player's team practice, school, and travel calendar
  • Held at our Saint Johns training facility and fields
  • Coached by SJSA staff who already know the academy's training environment
